🏒 Minooka Indians Launch 2025–2026 Season with Strong Showing at Warriors Pre-Season Tournament
The Minooka Indians kicked off their 2025–2026 campaign at the Warriors Pre-Season Tournament, hosted at All Seasons Ice Rink in Naperville, IL. With grit and precision, the squad stormed through their first three matchups, clinching their division and earning a spot in the semi-finals. Though their run ended short of the championship, finishing in the top 4 out of 16 teams was a powerful statement—and a promising start to what’s shaping up to be an exciting season.
Game 1 – Friday, September 12 vs. Carmel Corsairs Minooka opened with a commanding 5–1 victory. Goaltender Casimir Murawski was a wall in net, stopping 29 shots. Offensively, Jake Carrico led the charge with two goals, while Dominic Carrico, Zeke Madding, and Enzo Messineo each added one to seal the win.
Game 2 – Saturday Morning vs. Neuqua Valley Wildcats Facing a future Illinois West League opponent, Minooka kept the momentum rolling with a 5–0 shutout. Brendan Kurns turned away all 13 shots he faced. The scoring was spread across five new contributors: Dariusz Bryjak, Wyatt Ratcliff, Evan Worrell, Jason McReady Jr., and Theodore Murawski.
Game 3 – Saturday Morning vs. Hinsdale Central Red Devils In another Illinois West League clash, Minooka posted back-to-back shutouts with a 3–0 win. Murawski returned to net, stopping 8 shots for his second win of the tournament. Goals came from McReady Jr., Mason Cebrzynski, and Thomas Positano, with Evan Worrell assisting twice.
Semi-Final – vs. New Trier Trevians The Indians faced powerhouse New Trier, who entered the matchup undefeated and dominant. Despite a valiant effort, Minooka fell 5–0. New Trier went on to win the tournament, defeating Brother Rice in the final.
